As former PhD student and now postpoctoral fellow at the Institute of Biophysics and Nanosystems Research, Austrian Academy of Sciences, in the group of Ruth Prassl, I am working in various scientific fields. My work includes ex and in vivo preclinical imaging of atherosclerosis with different animal models of this disease (mice and rabbits), whereby the animals are pre-treated with self-designed contrast agents using liposomal nanoparticles as carrier and biomarkers for the specific targeting of the atherosclerotic plaques. I am further characterizing the transdifferentiation of brown and white adipocytes originated from stem cells for a therapeutic in vitro study, in which liposomes are used as carrier system for miRNA. In both fields I am applying fluorescence imaging with confocal laser scanning microscopy for the ex vivo and the in vitro experiments. I am further involved in the examination of chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) agents for in vitro magnet resonance imaging studies.
