Senior research scientist and group leader of the IBN outstation at the electron storage ring ELETTRA, Trieste, Italy. My current research interests are the structural characterization of fast self-assembly processes in biomembranes, mesoporous materials, biomineralization, the nucleation and growth of nanoparticles as well as structural alterations of them like phase transitions. On the other hand I am involved in the instrumental development of nanoanalytics with synchrotron radiation. Here besides the development of the theory and technique, the application of microfluidics for small angle X-ray scattering, in situ aerosol technique and combination of optical tweezers for structural characterizations are in the focus of my interests.
