Manfred Kriechbaum works in the SAXS field, especially on time-resolved SAXS experiments. By time-resolved X-ray diffraction experiments he is studying the barotropic phase-transitions in model membranes induced by rapid pressure-jumps.
Together with Milos Steinhart from the IMC Prague he has developed a compact high-pressure SWAX cell.
Furthermore he uses time-resolved SAXS to elucidate the conformational-structural changes of proteins in solutions induced by adding various substrates or induced by denaturations (e.g. by temperature, high pressure or denaturating media).
