I am working as junior scientist at the Austrian SAXS Beamline at Elettra.
I am interested in studies of nucleation and growth of nanoparticles in confined environment, and in biomineralization. My activity involves the design, fabrication and test of microfluidic systems especially tailored for SAXS experiments and for the manipulation and test of biological samples. This implies the use of advanced microfabrication techniques. I am now focused on a micromixer to study the early stages (first hundreds of microseconds) of chemical and biological reactions, and on a microfluidic cell for single particle studies. I am also expert in deep x-ray lithography technique, used both for microfabrication and for material science, allowing the combination of bottom-up and top-down techniques.
